Scottish Polish Wedding in Krakow

Close friends got engaged and I got asked to make the dress, it was an absolute honour.  Been friends with Neil for many many years, and so delighted he met Ania and even more so, that he proposed to her.

Neil and Ania had an amazing wedding in Krakow in August, pretty big crowd of our friends went and had an amazing time.

Ania had asked for the Scottish theme to be part of her dress, Neil chose the Pride of Scotland tartan, and we incorporated that in silk on a narrow belt on her dress, we added silk organza and ribbons to the details as well.

The dress was a big light fluffy crisp, silk organza dress backed with silk dupion skirt and silk dupioni bodice with boning and structure. The dress was designed to be light to wear even in hot Krakow in August.

It was so lovely to see they embraced the Scottish - Polish traditions, which will be how their lives will be in the future.

All the best to you Mr and Mrs Neil, and I can't wait to spend more time with you as a married couple, as you really are much fun.

Thank you again for letting me make your dress, it was an absolute pleasure Ania

Thanks also to the Photographer, for letting me use the lovely photographs  Radek Koscielniak

Sunny September in St Andrews

When you meet a bride the first time and you just think: "oh this girl is so beautiful and lovely.... I MUST make her dress!"

This was just how I felt when Linda came to meet me the first time. Such a beautiful girl... in and out.

We made Linda a lovely figure hugging princess dupion silk dress, with some beaded motifs in a pattern like a paisley pattern on the bodice.

Linda and Chris had an absolutely stunning day in September in the St Andrews Cathedral in Dundee and then following the Rufflets in St Andrews.

I have only ever seen Linda with a lovely smile on her face, so pleased to see that was there all her wedding day.

Chris and Linda all the best wishes to you, it was such a pleasure being involved in your big day.

thank you to Karen Jackson Photography, Adore Studios for supplying the lovely shots.

Country wedding at Tynningham Town Hall with close friends

The Groom Ian, has been a close friend of mine for many many years. I was delighted when he met Margaret, and romantically proposed to her on the finish line of the The Kiltwalk.

The Groom Ian, has been a close friend of mine for many many years. I was delighted when he met Margaret, and romantically proposed to her on the finish line of the Kiltwalk, Margaret said: YES.

Even better was it when the bride came to get her dress from me, as Margaret said: "Ian had chosen where to get the wedding dress for me even before he proposed"

I was delighted to work with Margaret. She went for a sweet heart neckline dress in Orissa silk in the colour called Pearl. She had a Guipure lace jacket over, which ties in a big bow at the back.

The wedding was everything you could wish for, a nice summers day for outdoors ceremony, friends and family in one place, rustic benches and lovely flowers and table settings, hog roast, lots of cakes, ceilidh dancing, ice cream van.

It was just such a fab day.

Ian and Margaret are both very creative souls, Ian has his own building company Gets It Done and he works in wood and had turned wooden quaichs for all guests, Margaret is an artist and had drawn the blue bird design which has great significance in their lives and she also got her blue birds tattooed for the wedding.

If you would like to see Margarets art, she exhibits in different places, look out for her work by signing up for her facebook account "Garter"

The lovely photographs are taken and kindly shared by Hannah Sidi Photographs

A Christmas Wedding at St Giles Cathedral and The Hub

Ohhh A Christmas wedding!! What's not to love? Marie Clare getting married to her husband between christmas and new year, and her family arriving from London and Malaysia to partake, what a wonderful big event.

The Venue was the St Giles Cathedral, and Marie Clare's Dad did took double role in both walking MarieClare up the aisle along with her mother AND conducting the service, Just brilliant.

We made Marie Claires gorgeous dress in a silk Mikado,

We were delighted to also make the outfit of the Mother of the bride, a lovely brocade coat with a tulip hem, the wishbone coloured brocade had pattern in hyacinth blue and gold, and we made a matching silk dress in the hyacinth blue and a matching fascinator.

The reception was held in the stunning  The Hub, Edinburgh, and the venue was beautifully dressed up for christmas.

Thank you so so much to Nigel Lumsden Photography, Perthshire for taking the lovely photographs and letting us share them with you.
