Beautiful Summer Wedding in East Lothian

This wedding was a record for us on so many levels.. This, I am sure, is the most dresses we have ever made to one event.
Steph contacted us originally as she was a friend of a friend from more than one side.. so nice.
Steph had very sophisticated ideas of how she wanted to look on her big day. She tried pretty much all our sample dresses.. and needless to say.. looked gorgeous in them all.
So we started to work on her ideas, the details, fabrics and feel she wanted.
Steph settled for a corded, sequined and beaded lace top with a very low back and straps. She then had a very full skirt with build in train in sand washed silk crepe.
She had a cathedral length 2 tier length veil to go with the dress.
Then Steph started to enquire about bridesmaids dresses, she settled for a dusky lilac chiffon Changeant and a godet insert at the back.
Then her mum came along to get her outfit made, Steph's mum had picked up gorgeous silk brocade from Joel & Son Fabrics, London, it was 2 different patterns the finer for the dress and the bigger daisy pattern for the coat. The coat outfit was lined and finely edged with a gorgeous paisley patterned silk lining.

Bride, bridesmaid and mother of bride all wore head dresses from Rene Walrus. Hair was by Dickson Reid Hairdressers by Maria Carmela Chierdhia, both close friends of the bride.

Stephs gorgeous ring was from Macintyres of Edinburgh

Fiona Cumming Floristry made the floral decoration, again a family friend, they were so lovely and completed the light sophisticated summery feel.  and there was beautiful stationary from White Blossom Designs.

And then a couple of guests and close family friends came to get their outfits done.. it was an absolute honor to be invited.. (so i guess my dress had to be made too).

The ceremony was held in St Michael's Church Eskbank and the wedding in a marquee supplied by best Best Intent Marquees, at Stephs parents house. The food was by Ginger Snap

The entire wedding was so so beautiful and the entire Boyd family was so nice generous and kind to deal with.

Julie Tinton Photography took the lovely photographs and kindly let us share them.

Embellished lace dress for Wedding at Hopetoun House

When Rachel came to see me for the first time she had already done a lot of research to her wedding dress, and she just didn't find what she was looking for in the shops.
she had seen a lovely lace at The Dress Fabric Company kindly helped by the owner Gwyneth,  and that became the lace we went with. The lace was stunning had a lot of detail as it was embroidered with beads and sequins, and had a very deep scallop.
The lace was backed with a duchess satin, and it had an internal corset and covered buttons and loops down the back of the dress all the way to the train.
we were so pleased when Rachel's mother asked us to make her dress as well, that was made in a douppion silk, had ruching to one side and a deep collar, and had buttons details too to tie in with Rachel's dress.
The wedding cars were from Ecosse Classic Cars and Rachel's hair was done by Gillian at Bewitched Salon and her Make up was done by Vicky Cameron Make-up. The rings were supplied by Clarksons, Edinburgh.
The wedding was amazing, held at South Queensferry Parish Church and reception at Hopetoun House , the photographer was Andrew Warren Photography, he kindly supplied us with his lovely work.
