Lynda & Rory at Lennoxlove

Lynda has been a lovely bride to work with. She had firm ideas of what she wanted.. minimum bling... maximum sophistication.. I think you she looks so stunning on her wedding pictures from LennoxLove .
Lynda went for a heavy duchesse silk satin dress in dark ivory. She had ruching detail on the front and off the shoulder neckline. The back was decorated with... 115 silk covered buttons and loops. Her dress had an internal corset.
Lynda had a 2 tier cathedral silk veil, with a guipure lace edging.
We also made Lynda’s bridesmaids dresses, she had 2 bridesmaids, her sister Jodie and niece Emily. The bridesmaids dresses were made in a champagne coloured Orissa silk with ivory silk satin belt and bow at the back. The bridesmaids also had ivory silk covered buttons at the back to mirror the detail on Lynda’s dress.
Lynda had her hair done by Gwen at McKenzie Hair Design and her make up by Lynne Mills at EyeCandy.
The lovely pictures has been taken by Epic Private and we are very happy to have the opportunity to show you them.

Sylvia and Alan

Sylvia and Alan were married at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh earlier in 2012. Opting for a graceful dress made in a light mocha douppion silk, Sylvia made a gorgeous bride! The calf-length dress was very flattering, with a wide cross-over neckline, three quarter length sleeves and ruching on one side of the waist. Intricate lace and crystal embellishments on her waist accentuated Sylvia’s figure, as did the subtle ruching. Hair accessories by Rene Walrus and hair styling by Brian Rafferty of the Marco Pelo Salon in Edinburgh were a lovely addition to Sylvia's look for the day. The setting of the Balmoral complemented the dress very well, and overall it was a wonderfully elegant wedding. The photographs by AbFab Photography really show off both the dress and how happy everyone was on the big day. Congratulations to Alan and Sylvia!

Blue-Bell Wedding dress

Here are some of the photos of Mairi's wedding in May 2012 at Mar Hall in Bishopton! Mairi opted for an elegant midi-length gown with a v-shaped neckline and long sheer sleeves made from a beautiful blue silk crepe-back satin with a chiffon changant overlay. The Freja team also made the groom's tie from this same fabric! The sleeve detail was worked into Mairi's dress from a favourite dress of her mother's and the dress was fastened together at the back with a row of buttons. Mairi looked absolutely fantastic on her big day with her dress made by us here at Freja Designer Dressmaking, hair done by Alison and the team at Cutting In in Renfrew, jewellery made by Jodie Pope and photos taken by Allan Donaldson at http://www1.clikpic.com/alland/. Mairi wanted to give a very special thanks to all involved in her wedding day for making it so wonderful!

Fiona's Guipore Lace Wedding Dress

Fiona’s May wedding was one of the very short notice weddings we have done. Fiona and her husband to be was going to have a fairly small and intimate wedding with close friends and family, and their gorgeous 2 boys!

She came in to see me after being recommended to come and see me from a few different people, which was very special to us and made up so keen to make her dress, she had a lovely idea of the silhouette she wanted, she was determined she wanted a slim fit dress, with little sleeves, we thought it would suit her very well. Then Fiona fell in love with our heavy guipure laces. We have been dying to use this one which is a brand new design, and very much in vogue as both collections from both Prada and Valentino has recently had such laces in their collections.

We had the dress ready in time, Bride and groom had a lovely day, with time to spend outside between the showers!!

Hair by Susan Grant and Make-up by Carey of Simply Smooth in Tranent, both friends of Fiona.

The Photographs are kindly supplied by Rod Irvine,  Thank you for letting us use them!

Elizabeth and Bruce at Dundas Castle

Elizabeth and Bruce got married at Dundas Castle on the 1st April 2012. Liz gave us a bit of a surprise when she came to see us to have her dress made. She was pregnant, and would be 22 weeks gone by the time of the wedding. We were very excited for the challenge of her dress and Liz had lots of initial ideas which made the design stage much easier.
At first, I thought a lot about how Liz's bodyshape would change quite quickly over the months leading to the wedding and how this would affect the fit of the dress.I decided the best idea would be to start making her dress 5 weeks before the wedding date leaving it as late as we possibly could but it turned out that I had nothing to worry about as Liz was training hard with her personal trainer Sally Scott at Virgin Active and the results were incredible!
Liz looked gorgeous in her beaded empire line dress which was made from a slinky silk satin with a deep v at the front and buttons down the back. The bodice was pleated which flattered her shape perfectly (not that she needed it!). Liz teamed her dress with a simple hairpiece which gave her a very elegant look.Liz's hair was styled by Princess Cut Bridal Hair. She carried a dusky pink colour scheme through from her beautiful bridesmaids to her fabulous flowers by Planet Flowers.

Liz's perfect day was captured by photographer Cate Gillon and as you can see, no baby bump in sight! Big thank you to Cate and Liz for letting us feature this stunning wedding.

Blue necklace inspired beauty!

A few years back the Freja team created a beautiful two-piece wedding outfit for Caroline for her wedding to Fergal at the Hub. On her special day, Caroline wanted to wear a sentimental blue jewel encrusted necklace and so was keen for her wedding attire to incorporate the colour of this special necklace in some way. She therefore opted for a beautiful design made from silk duchess satin in ivory and comprised of separates; an elegant bandeau top with an internal corset held together by button and loop fastenings and a long flowing skirt with a delicate train. In order to incorporate the element of blue, she then handbeaded the upper section of the top by herself with an array of cream Swarovski pearls of varying sizes and with intermittent clear and blue Swarovski crystals, sourced via Rene Walrus. This slow and intricate process took Caroline such a long time to complete but with a lot of drive and determination and a little help from Rene Walrus she managed to see it through to the end! The final result was outstanding, with Caroline looking fantastic on her big day! The two-piece design is rarely opted for these days but it really is such a classic look with wonderful results and is a great option for adding that little something different! Caroline has just sent us some of the photographs taken of the happy couple on their wedding day by Absolutely Fabulous and we couldn't wait to share them with you all!

Contemporary Dress for a Rock and Roll Bride!

Louise came to us in November 2010 with lots of ideas for her wedding in March 2012.She had planned to get married at the Vu in West Lothian, so we knew straight away that her dress would have to fit in with the modern style of the venue.

Louise's one shouldered dress was made from a beautiful Polysatin in an asymmetric style with a long train for her grand entrance! She had an internal lace up inside the dress which gave her all the support she needed whilst being hidden by a concealed zip on the outside.
Her ivory and black flowers from Lilypad complimented her dress amazingly. I loved how she then carried this colour scheme through to the Groom, matching it with his charcoal jacket which completed her black and white rock and roll theme for the day!

Louise had lots of fun working with her photographer Christopher Currie Wedding Photography and they captured her day perfectly.

Louise said: 'I really want you to know how truly amazing the dress was and how amazing it made me feel in it, I couldn't have imagined it being so beautiful and you some how did it exactly how I had dreamed it to be! Not only that but it was so lovely to work with you to get the dress made, you were simply wonderful and such a lovely person it made the build up even more special to have you so excited for me! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, you made my day!'
