Short Wedding Dress in Thai silk, Chantilly lace and Block colours

Lucy's engagement was a very happy announcement. We had already worked with Lucy for her sister's
wedding a couple of years ago, so we were pleased to be called on again. The wedding was to be
held in the Duddingston Kirk and the reception The Hub, Royal Mile.
Lucy had decided for a short dress before she even contacted us. She had it made in Pure Silk
Deluxe Douppion fabric, and she had ruching on the waist, deep pleats on the very full ballerina
length skirt. She had the corset build in, which tied up below the fastening of covered buttons
and loops. There was a cute lace trim on the hem. The dress was strapless and lucy went for a
Chantilly lace bolero with long sleeves for the day time, she then had a copy of this lace bolero
for the evening but without the sleeves to make it easy for her to dance.
Lucy Chose a great head dress from Rene Walrus.
We also made the four bridesmaids dresses, they had high neck on the front and a deep V-neck at
the back, deep pleats on the skirts to match Lucy's dress. We made 2 dresses in fuchsia pink and
two in purple. Two of the dresses was made only the week before the wedding, as the two
bridesmaids had recently given birth to the two most gorgeous babies, which gave them time to get
back into shape.
We feel it all came together with Lucy's mothers outfit. She had a short silk jacket and a
matching lace dress in a royal blue colour.
The block colours of the dresses gives it a very current feel and it is indeed very happy colours.
Lucy kept herself and her bridesmaids very busy before the wedding with lots and lots of fun and
very pretty DIY decorations for her wedding. Lucy's flowers were from Bloemen Ecke and the lovely photographs are taken by Paul Saunders Photography.
