Lucy's dress for her Wedding at Crear, Argyll

When we first met Lucy, she had a few cut outs from magazines of lovely vintage style lace, swishy skirts and amazing visions for her and Matheu's wedding at the stunning venue Crear Weddings, Kilberry, Argyll.

Lucy was very involved in the design of her dress and chose a guipore lace which was similar to the laces of a lot of the wedding dresses in the early 1970es, but we re-worked it for a much more current look. Lucy had the lace backed with douppion silk and then a silk organza skirt overlay. Internal corset, boning, silk satin ruched belt on the waist, and lovely satin buttons down the back of her dress.

With that Lucy chose a simple edged, fingertip veil.

The wedding was held in the Achahoish Church, and the reception at the Crear, Kilberry all in Argyll.
Catherine Martin at "Style Argyll" did Lucy's wedding hair, and the gorgeous flowers were arranged by Melody at Crear Flowers. The guests were entertained by music from the fabolous The Occasionals Ceilidh Band.

The lovely Photographs are kindly supplied by Archie MacFarlane.

Douppion silk and beaded lace wedding dress

It was so lovely when Susan came to see us 18 months before her wedding she had some ideas of what she would like for her wedding dress, together we chose the lace and the fabrics and details. One Year later we started on her dress and it quickly took shape. Susan had an ivory silk dress with embroidered and beaded lace over the bodice and sleeves. The lace had elaborate beaded scallop edging on sleeve edges and neckline. Susan had functional buttons on the back and an internal corset. The wedding was held at Ellersly House Hotel, Murrayfield the hair was by Calm Hair and Beauty, West Linton and Susan did her own make up with Chanel products. Susan wore her mums head dress which we had customised for her. We also made Susan's mums outfit, she went for an indigo lace dress and a silk-wool coat to match. The whole thing came together so well for an early spring wedding. Susan and her mum, were both a delight to work with and we wish her and Gary all the best for the future. Thank you to Ewan F. Ramage Photography for letting us use his images.

Soft 3D layered lace, gorgeousness and Sindy dolls

Bridget called us up after her engagement and early planning of her wedding. She had been to look at dresses, but she felt the wedding dress market didn't in any way cater for what she had in mind.
We had a chat on the phone and i met up with Bridget, i so really liked her style, and felt on wave length very quickly.
i sent a few different designs to Bridget, they were in fact in quite different directions. Some was a bit slightly industrial or geometric in their style but as it developed it ended a up a lot softer and romantic than the starting point.
The dress we made in a 3D lace, it had buttons and loops down the back. Very fine sheer sleeves made in silk tuille and with deep silk duchess satin cuffs.
It was a joy that Prestonfield House, was such a stunning venue and Bridget spend a lot of energy getting things to match up. The flowers fitted the theme perfectly and was by Planet Flowers.
Bridget had hair accessories from Rene Walrus and Make up was by  Christine Forster, Make-up by Chris
Bridget's lovely daughter and her friend had dresses made to fit. they had the silk bodice and silk organza skirt and beaded belts on them both. Bridget had as a surprise to the girls asked us to make copies of their dresses made for their Sindy dolls.
Michaela Waddell of Verity Productions took the photographs and kindly let us use them.

Bridget wrote us a lovely testimonial, you can read it here: Freja-Fashion Testimonials

Romantic Garden Wedding in Fife

Louise, came to see me 8 months before her wedding. She had tried lots and lots of dresses on in shops, and lots of them she liked or liked bits of, but none of them gave her the woauh factor she wanted.

We talked through the things she really liked and the things she really didn't like in a dress. I then came up with some designs, she picked designs which were a mix of the different styles i had drawn up.

She went for the dress to be made in 3 different fabrics, this allowed us to add a bit of different textures to the dress.

The bodice was made in a rich Silk Duchesses satin, she had an embellished belt which was placed on top of a matte sheer silk Georgette, she had a paneled fish tail skirt on her dress, made in Thai Silk. She had netting under and a net bustle she could take off at night time to minimise the bustle when she was dancing.

We had Louise's dress well on the way, when she asked us if we could make her bridesmaids dresses too. We were really pleased to be asked as we felt we would complete the look of her wedding. Louise had 4 bridesmaids, all stunning with different colouring. Louise decided for the kingfisher colour, it looks stunning and vibrant on all 4 of them.

Louise had done a lot of the work before her wedding herself, and friends and family had helped out, the ceremony was held in the gardens of Crail House , and the reception held in the village hall.   The photographs was
taken by a friend and the flowers were by The Ladybirds Florist, St. Andrews
.
Hair was done by a friend and make up was by Dawn from La Belle Beauty Boutique, St. Monans.

We so really enjoyed working with Louise and her 4 bridesmaids.
