We Fell in Love Wedding Blog Competition winners!

This wedding was very special wedding to be involved in. Lois and her Matthew had won a competition running on We Fell In Love wedding blog. The couple had submitted their story and the public had voted that Lois & Matthew were the couple to win this amazing price of a wedding at Drumtochty Castle. We loved Lois initial style brief and meeting her just confirmed that they were the best winners of the competition and we were over the moon to make her dress for her.

Lois decided to go for a princess style wedding dress. The dress was white and had sequins, it had boning and a lace up back and a full full skirt made in different grades of mesh.

Lois looked beautiful as a winter bride.

The day was complete with flowers from Nicky Walker Flowers and stationary from Twenty-Seven photography from Blue Sky Photography and a little wedding film from Cherrytree Films.

We couldn't have wished for kinder, nicer more beautiful and more deserving couple to win the competition. It was an absolute pleasure working with you and it was by far one of our highlights of 2013.

Lots and lots of lovely chinese silk organza

It has been such a pleasure working with Laura. Very early on it became clear to me that nothing would be left to coincidence for her beautiful wedding to Jordan. They had booked the wonderful Crear Weddings venue on the remote coast of Argyll. They chose Craig from McBeth Photography to take their lovely photographs - his love of photographing scenery and quirky style was just what they were looking for. Gryffe Weddings were there to capture the day on video.

Laura went for an ivory silk organza wedding dress, in a mermaid shape, with a long full train and organza straps. The dress had an internal corset and covered buttons on the back, sweet heart neckline and removable bustle at the back. We also made her fingertip-length, satin trimmed ivory veil. We so enjoyed making this dress, and I hope you love the result.  An incredible 250 meters of silk organza strips are attached individually on this amazing dress.

Thank you to Craig at McBeth Photography and Gryffe Weddings for letting us show off their amazing work. Laura's make up and hair was by The Aisle Bridal Hair and Make Up, and her headdress was by
Corrine Smith Design . Laura and Jordan's wonderful cake was made by Karen Bonnar Cakes. The vintage glassware and china were hired from The Green Cockatoo.

All the best for the future for Laura and Jordan

Silk dress with pink details

Ruth came to us with lovely DIY ideas for her wedding for a springtime fun outdoors wedding. With lots of practice from Girl guides, she had ideas for activities and some lovely ideas for details for her very personal wedding.

We were excited to be asked to make her dress. Ruth Decided to go for an Ivory silk, deep pleat dress with a wide pink belt and pearl detail. She had handmade roses  and sashes at the back. The dress had a train which bustles up for the night time dancing.

The wedding was held at Kirknewton Estate, Stables, lovely photographs taken and kindly supplied by Kristin Mitchell at Struve Photography

The lovely DIY details were all made by Ruth.

Green Silk Taffeta Short wedding dress with deep pleats and lace overlay

It was lovely to meet Mary, we got really excited about her lovely ideas, she wanted a short green wedding dress, that was what she was sure of. We looked at her ideas and came up with some options to achieve the look she wanted. She went for a lovely crisp silk taffeta in a green colour and a sweet heart neckline with bateau scallop neckline in lace over, on the back the lace has a keyhole and a concealed zip.
The wedding ceremony was held at the Malmaison, Leith, and the Wedding Lunch at The Shore Bar and Restaurant, the evening drinks was at Bond No 9. All on the Shore, an area much loved by the bride and groom.

The flowers were from Petals on The Shore, Hair By Cascal on Constitution Street, and Mary's gorgeous shoes were from Jimmy Choo.
