Silk dress with pink details

Ruth came to us with lovely DIY ideas for her wedding for a springtime fun outdoors wedding. With lots of practice from Girl guides, she had ideas for activities and some lovely ideas for details for her very personal wedding.

We were excited to be asked to make her dress. Ruth Decided to go for an Ivory silk, deep pleat dress with a wide pink belt and pearl detail. She had handmade roses  and sashes at the back. The dress had a train which bustles up for the night time dancing.

The wedding was held at Kirknewton Estate, Stables, lovely photographs taken and kindly supplied by Kristin Mitchell at Struve Photography

The lovely DIY details were all made by Ruth.

Fun and beautiful wedding at The Hub

Joanna got engaged over Christmas, and soon after was in touch. she had ideas of what she wanted and we looked at different fabrics and cuts, beads and trims and other details. She soon settled for what she wanted.. then she went away to loose some weight. She blew me away with her determination, and she looked so so different when the wedding was much closer and we had to get started on her dress.

In the meantime we got on with her bridesmaids dresses, Joanna chose a Windsor blue shot chiffon, and the colour really suited both bridesmaids and the lovely Canongate Kirk. Joanna's mother Annie, decided for a simple silk crepe dress with corded lace coat over in a pale blue colour, she had a hat from Alex Muir, and for the evening she took the lace coat off and had an elaborate belt of chiffon, crystal beading and roses.

Joanna's dress was made in pale ivory douppion silk and had a Chantilly lace overlay on the bodice. The dress had an internal corset which was laced up and then buttons and loops over the top of that. The silk was ruched to the side on the front, and then hand beading with Aurora Borealis Swarovski crystals over the folds.

She also had a 2 tier veil with a bias binding.
The flowers were from Planet flowers. Hair was done by JD Bridal Hair.

The reception was to be held in The Hub and Callanish was playing for the Ceilidh.

It’s been an absolute joy working with everyone at this wedding, all so excited to have a fun and beautiful relaxed wedding. It was so nice for us to make all the outfits and get them to tie in together.

The lovely photographs are taken by Duke Studio's, thank you so much to them for letting me show them to you.
