Do you remember the Tuesday before last? well, that was the day when we did a photoshoot in the Edinburgh Royal Botanics We being: John Cheung the photographer, Make-up-Artist-Lynda-Joyce, Sarah from the Modelteam in Glasgow, Me... in charge of flowers kindly supplied by Planet Flowers, and the head dresses, from Rene Walrus, and obviously.. our dresses.
We had a ball, and we think we got some good shots in before it went all crazy, but we would like to hear what you think. Gold star to Sarah, who managed to run for shelter at the John Hope Centre, in cathedral length veil, high heels, big big dress, long long train, while the make-up and tiara slowly slid of her. I will not forget that sight in a hurry.
It was a joy to work with new faces, and if it wasn't because i have so many dresses to finish on a daily basis this kind of stuff would be all i would be doing.

Spring Wedding at the Signet Library
We have been very busy over the last couple of months, with more weddings than ever before.
Joanna came to us with ideas of what she liked and we really enjoyed working with her. We knew Joanna already, as we had worked with her the year before, when we made her sisters lovely wedding dress and wedding coat. Joanna was also a bridesmaid wearing a "Freja" dress, so it was a joy to see her and her family back.
The wedding turned out just like she wanted it, a spring wedding in the city.
I would like to show you her pictures. We created Joanna's dress for her in Heavy weight silk crepe, with a silk chiffon sash on the hips. The wedding was photographed by Martin Pettinger outside the Signet Library.
We have many more weddings to come and we are already planning a quite a few for 2012.

Black Swan
Black Swan
For ages we wanted to do a little project with our "Wedding Supply Friends" in Edinburgh. We all saw and LOVED the film "Black Swan" so we decided to do a photo shoot inspired by that film and the ballet its based on.Christina from Elemental Weddings was the primus motor, i offered to supply a couple of outfits, then soon we had lots of other lovely people on board.
We had a great day and we love the results, we hope you do too.

From the Heart
We have some really great friends in the wedding industry, suppliers who are as dedicated to their work as we are.
We decided to make a few fun things together with them all for Valentine ’s Day, to challenge each other’s skills and
creativity and to do something to do with love hearts for Valentine’s day.
It was lots of fun, and we think what we all came up with was great!
The participating companies are Planet Flowers Beetroot Blue, us and obviously Blue Sky Photography.
Bluesky Photography photographed it all and here are our results. We are running a competition for you to enter your
hearts. The competition is open until the midnight on Sunday the 6th of March and it must be photo graphs of your work
must be displayed on the blue sky facebook site.
Come on, get thinking and enter your entry for the competition.

VOWS Awards 2010
You may already know that Freja Designer Dressmaking are nominated for the VOWS Award of Bridal Dress Designer of the Year for the 3rd year in a row and we are looking forward to a wonderful time at the award ceremony in Glasgow on Monday the 8th of November in company with our friends from the Scottish Wedding Industry.
Freja Designer Dressmaking won in this category last year and is one of only three finalists shortlisted this year, the competition is extremely tough, the other finalist are also previous winners in this category. We are absolutely delighted to be nominated again, particularly as the awards are voted for by recently wedded couples and I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who took the time to vote.
A wedding is a once in lifetime occasion and we love being involved in the excitement of the event, working with the bride to make sure her dress is perfect so she feels spectacular on her big day. Of course, none of this would be possible without the work of my great team, Cathie, Kaska and Viktorija. A special thank you all 3!
